Karver - Pure Performance Deck & Mast Gear

Karver have introduced a new range of furlers faithful to its DNA: Innovation, Performance and Design. furler - Version 3. Most of the functions found today on the furler market were designed by Karver: automatic locking of the drum, quick furling line installation, captive fast pins, carbon drum, 3:1 friction sheave with fast pin etc… And here are 3 more added on this new furler:  

• A patented continuous line spool in carbon / Kevlar®  which beyond the aesthetics provides better grip and less wear on the line
• A snap shackle, K Snap, which can be used as a 2: 1 friction sheave
• New ergonomic impact-resistant protection, K Kroks, for the drum and the swivel.

 The range has been revised to reduce the gap between models and better suit current applications: KF0.9, KF1.5, KF1.5 Large, KF3.0, KF3.0 Large, KF4.5, KF6.0, KF8.0, KF10, KF12.
For the smaller models (KF1.5 and KF3.0), which are mainly operated by hand, larger drum versions are available in order to have more power and thus facilitate furling without a winch.
The new KF V3 furler comes packed with features that are only options from other brands at a very competitive price.

 

  The Karver KRS reefing furler is an Eco-Designed reefing furler to last. Robustness, reliability and elegance are at the heart of the design. The KRS is a manual furler for all sailboats from 20 to 80 feet. The drum is compact and wide to reduce winding efforts. With a competitive price, Karver offers a full-option reefing furler. This marks the end of having to choose between cruising and regatta range. An elliptical profile with double groove, removable drum and luff line guide are delivered as standard.

Installing a Karver lock makes it possible to avoid a halyard stretch thus releasing the full power of the sails.

They also save weight and cost as the diameter of the halyard can be reduced as it no longer carries the load of the sail when sailing. The installation of a halyard lock also reduces compression in the mast as the halyard is no longer strained.                                                  

It would be a mistake to think that these advantages are only for the racing scene. A gain in weight aloft results in better boat stability by decreasing the pitching and rolling in heavy weather conditions in all types of boats.

Karver winches are equipped with a double gear mechanism, a classic first stage identical to current winch design and a second consisting of an epicyclic gear. This patented technology is used for the first time on a winch and has the effect of multiplying efforts. Our winches are either 6 times faster than any other winch on the market (Speed Range), or 3 times more powerful (Power Range).

We also have a the Compact 2 speed  winch with the power of a winch 45 but the size of a winch 20.
